About Jillian Friedman

Through her commercial law practice, Friedman Law, Jillian serves the e-commerce, fin-tech and start up industry. A member of the Quebec bar, Jillian practices in both English and French. She provides services to clients at all stages of their business, advising on legal requirements of new projects and technologies and providing strategic legal and regulatory compliance advice.
Jillian is considered a leading expert on crypto-currency and financial tech. Her views on cryptocurrency and technology law issues have been published in Canadian Lawyer Magazine, National Magazine, Huffington Post and in local media. Jillian has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences and seminars including those hosted by the Canadian IT Law Association, the Canadian Institute, the Canadian Money Services Business Association, Politik.IO, and the Bitcoin Foundation. She has also testified before the Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce on consumer protection law and digital currency.

She is co-author and editor of the Law of Bitcoin, a book to be published in Spring 2015. She also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and is pursing a Masters in IT law through the University of Montréal.
Jillian acts as counsel to the Bitcoin Embassy, a Montreal based entrepreneurial hub and is director and chief legal officer of the Bitcoin Foundation Canada. Jillian participates in industry groups as a board member of the Montreal chapter of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and as an advisor for the Canadian Internet Marketing Association. She sits on the board of Equity Crowdfunding Quebec, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of equity crowdfunding in Quebec.
About Joseph Neudorfer

Joseph Neudorfer is a corporate and civil litigation attorney based in Montreal. Joseph’s experience, work ethic and adaptability make him an expert in helping clients achieve their desired outcomes, in the courtroom and boardroom. He has represented clients before all levels of courts in Quebec, including at the Quebec Court of Appeal.
Motivated by new challenges, Joseph has represented clients in emerging industries such as cryptocurrency, cannabis, and cyber security. Joseph was one of the first lawyers in Canada to go before the court with cryptocurrency related matters and has published a legal analysis on bitcoin and the law.
Joseph readily understands the many perspectives of a litigious file and ensures the best angle is taken to protect the interests of his clients. His litigation and commercial law skills are sought for a diverse range of issues including real estate, shareholders disputes, contract negotiations, business start-up and other corporate and commercial matters.
Part of Joseph’s practice also includes family law. His clients choose him for his calm and assertive guidance in high pressure situations.
Joseph holds a B.A. in History from McGill University and an LL.B from UQAM. He was admitted to the Québec bar in 2007.
